Its a cycle as you see!hahaha
They have them to breast feed BABIES IDIOT. Also they are a errogenous zone or a pleasure zone for women. BETTER QUESTION TO ASK WHY DO MEN HAVE BREASTS. YOU WANT TO KNOW ANSWER I HAVE THAT TO. ITS NOT SAME AS WOMENS REASON.

Why does everyone think tampons are better than pads?

I wear pads and I dont have a problem with them but a lot of girls say that tampons are better but i do not like them because im afraid they will hurt. IM NEVER WEARING A TAMPON.
Answer:
Advantages to pads:

Since they don't go in the body, the shape and size of your vagina doesn't matter. Pads can be used by women of any age; they're a common choice for girls who have just begun menstruation.
You have no risk of toxic shock syndrome.

Disadvantages to pads.

Since they're outside your body, the blood can get in contact with air, and a pad left on for a long time may develop an odor. This isn't necessarily a problem -- our society is far too finicky about natural body odors -- but if you're concerned about odor, make sure you change your pad at least every three to four hours.
Leakage. Many of us report that pads leak at night or off the sides, though one of us has a solution to this (see our experiences for more information).
Pads are outside your body -- which means that you can't wear them when swimming, and they can be visible under very tight clothing. How much of a disadvantage this is, if at all, depends on your activities and your attitudes. If you never go near a swimming pool, you never wear tight pants or leotards, or you don't care if someone can tell you're menstruating, this won't be a problem. And keep in mind that 99% of your activities can still be done while wearing a pad.
Disposable pads may present something of an ecological problem; you can go through several thousand pads in your lifetime, and all those pads have to be manufactured and then added to our landfills. Of course, you can avoid this by using cloth pads that you wash and reuse, but then you have to factor in the cost and energy of the washing. A lot of the discussion in the cloth-vs-disposable diaper debate applies here as well (wonderful comparison, eh?).
Some women are concerned about hazards from the chemical used to bleach many disposable pads. A few companies do make unbleached menstrual pads, disposable or reusable.
Some women find that pads chafe their inner thighs. This can sometimes be helped by switching brands or changing to another type of pad.

Advantages to tampons:

When you properly insert a tampon, you don't feel it.
As they're worn internally, you can swim while wearing a tampon.
If you're concerned about odor, tampons do tend to be less smelly than pads, since they're internal.
Tampons can't be seen through tight clothing.

Disadvantages to tampons:

Tampon use increases your risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome, an illness whose exact causes are still unknown. To reduce your risk, use only the absorbency of tampon you need, and change tampons regularly.
When the string on a tampon gets wet, it can act as a wick to carry bacteria into your vagina, leading to possible infections. Try not to urinate on the tampon string, and be especially careful when you have a bowel movement.
Because tampons should be changed every 3 or 4 hours, most sources recommend that you not wear them at night.
As with pads, some people are concerned that the dioxins produced by chlorine-bleaching the cotton will cause health problems, and in fact may cause greater problems than with chlorine-bleached pads because the tampons are worn internally; some also think that synthetic materials in tampons or any pesticides used in growing the cotton can cause problems as well. If you're concerned about this, you can use tampons made from unbleached organic cotton, or you can switch to another kind of bloodcatcher. (We know of no health concerns with the cotton itself, but we don't know of any studies on this topic either.)
Not all women can use tampons. If you can't insert a tampon without pain, then don't force yourself to use it! Pads do a perfectly good job.

they both have their advantages and disadvantages
Sing it sister! I'm afraid I'll get Toxic Shock Syndrome from a tampon so I refuse to wear one.
i dont know! that would hurt SO bad!
ewwwwwwww
your girl parts are made to have stuff go in honey. you'll be ready one day to make the switch. trust me, you'll never go back.
cuz tamponsit sticks in there better
You can smell if a girl is wearing a pad, I don't care how many times you change it, they stink!!!!!!! Do everyone around you a favor and stick a tampon in there, they don't hurt.
im scared its gonna hurt too
i dont plan on wearing ever in my life
im sticking with pads鈽?
I agree with you..some say there bulky. That's why I buy the thin ones.I hate tampons as well.
well would u rather sit in ur blood?
I thought tampons would hurt too, but they totally don't. So no need to be afraid. Anyways, I tried tampons because sometimes I would get leaks from pads, and I HATED the feeling of the blooding coming out. I was always so self-conscious when I get my period but now I'm comfortable when I'm going anywhere or playing gym. I can't even feel it, it's like the tampons not there
TAMPONS ROCK!!!
To each his own. I like them better because they just feel cleaner to me. With pads, I always feel wet and unclean down there. There's nothing wrong with only wearing pads, though so if you like them and they're comfortable for you, that's perfectly fine. Tampons don't hurt, though.
Girls tell me all the time how much better tampons are, but the truth is I can't even put one in! Pads only bother me if I want to go swimming or doing something active.
a lot of girls prefer tampons because it allows them to do more things like sports or swimming. I myself don't like wearing them because I have a heavy flow and I bleed through them. I'm 37 and I still wear pads, so don't sweat it! It's a personal preference. Tampons don't hurt if they are inserted properly, but they aren't for everyone. And pads only smell bad if you get the deodorant ones. Never get the scented ones, they are nasty.
i personally prefer pads. I do not like tampons because tampons do hurt me and i have even had children so it is just a preference
Well, most people use them because they are easier and slightly more sanitary. Its your personal preference. But if your afraid of a tampon, are you going to be afraid of a penis? they are much bigger.
I think that one of the advantage is you are able to swim. but for the "performance" i think they are pretty the same.
PADS ALL THE WAY! I'm sorry, but, i'd only want one thing up there, and it's definitely not a tampon. Not to mention i find them to be just uncomfortable and untrustworthy.
If you gonna wear tampons use Tampax, with the applicator it's much more sanitary and easier to use. I don't use tamons unless I'm going swimming or something. Just wear what your comfortable with.
If you are a young girl and you don't want to use them just don't. Once you get use to it, is confortable, but you need to be carefull, you need to "touch" yoursefl while you are "dirty" and some people don't like it. I don't think is anything wrong with pads. So be strong with your position and keep doing what you want. They should influence you to change something silly like this, if you le t them you might end doing drugs just because other gilrs want you to do it! Think about it.
It isn't everyone because everyone is different. I prefer them because to me they're more comfortable, I feel cleaner, and I don't have to worry about it showing.
Personally, I hate pads. I feel like I'm wearing diapers, and they feel gross when I go running or swimming.
They never hurt me, but if you don't like using them, then don't. It's a personal decision.
i kno u think they hurt soo bad because ur sticking this stick thing up ur butt, right? but its actually painless! this is coming from someone who cries her eyes out when she gets a shot! haha. tampons are a lot better because you can wear them when you swim, in the shower, and tight jeans because they dont show through. plus they are more convenient. pads are really bad because other people can definetley smell when u wear one, even if u cant smell it. if u do decide to get tampons, DEFINETLEY buy tampax pearl plastic. they last the longest and are the most painless.
theyre not
First of all you should use whatever you like the best. That said tampons do not hurt. You can get toxic shock syndrome if you leave a tampon in for too long, but that rarely happens. I think that most women that use tampons do not like the wet feeling down below. When you use a tampon you do not feel wet at all. Also some women use tampons because they do not like the smell that accompanies periods. I use them for both reasons.
The plus to Tampons is that they are less likely to have any leakage (as long as you change them appropriately and use the correct absorbency), protecting your pants etc. Pads work just as well, but they require a little more awareness of time of use and what time in your cycle you are using them (ie. you change them more when you are heavy) As far as some of the answers that others have given TSS is VERY uncommon with todays tampons. Originally, TSS was discovered in an absorbency that is no longer sold in the United States. They were taken off the market I believe in the late 80's. The inserts of information in the box are generally just there to make people aware of the risks. The main risk has to do with trapping bacteria in your body for an extended period of time. With suggested use, there is almost no chance of TSS. Also, if inserted correctly, you should not feel the tampon. If you can still feel it, it means that it is not in far enough. I used to use tampons all the time, because of convenience and comfort level (I never really liked the feeling of a "diaper" on down there), but now I only use high end pads that have great absorbency, that keeps it from feeling uncomfortable. The reason being, is that I found that tampons extend thhe length of my period. Using pads I went from 9 days down to 5. That's why I use pads, but as I said, sometimes tampons are really nice because they are a little lower maintainance and are a lot easier to carry in your purse.
pads leave messes and feel gross, tampons are much more comfortable and make you feel less self-concious
I have worn tampons since I was... well let's just say a very long time. I started menses at age 11, and I started using tampons at age 14 or 15. The only time I wear a pad is during the night, and only when I am experiencing bad cramping.

Tampons are fine, so long as you use the right one for your absorbency. If you are bleeding like a stuck pig, then you don't use a regular size. You should use a super for heavy bleeding. If you need a super plus, in my opinion you need to see your doctor. I have always been a heavy bleeder and have never needed a super plus. If you are a light bleeder then a regular tampon should be enough.

Tampons need to be changed every 4-6 hours. The thing is, if you remove them too often you will make yourself sore from the friction. If you remove one after 4 hours and there's not much on it, then wait a couple hours longer next time. There are also tampons in size junior, slims and slim regular if regulars are still too much.

Pros and cons - Tampons never show through your clothes. Pads do. Tampons are not bulky like diapers between your legs. Pads are. You don't have to look at tampons everytime you go to restroom. Personally I don't like looking at, or smelling those pads at every bathroom visit. You can swim in a tampon, not in a pad. Pads can cause odor if not changed often enough, tampons give off no odor at all.

It's all a matter of preference. If you would like to try to use a tampon, buy some of the smaller ones, and be sure to get the ones with plastic applicators. They glide better. Also stand with one foot up on the bathtub and angle the tampon in.

Be sure to insert it high enough until you feel resistance. If not inserted enough, this too could cause soreness. The tampon could also slip out if not inserted high enough. Practice until you get it right, and try them when you are going to be home. You may find that you like them too.
Well Tampons pervent leakage better. But Pads are great for comfort
Tampons are just SO much more convient for me
I do a TON of sports and pads just don't cut it for me-especially in dance with leotards...They are also easier at least for me to carry around (smaller)
They DO NOT HURT..Just wear the lowest absorbancy 4 u possible and ull b fine

Why does answers remove a question i had involving womens health ?

I posted a question under the women's health catagory, last night. It was tastefully worded and didn't contain any off color
language, just the correct biological textbook terms ...ie: vagina. Yahoo deleted it with an RSS beside it. Why ?
It's a valid question I have that even my OB/GYN changed the subject and didn't answer and I can't find any answers by googleing it, either, so I thought I'd ask here
Answer:
Quick!
Hurry up and ask again, and we'll try to answer it before it gets removed!
I totally understand what your saying ByeDr.com is very bias when it comes to certain answer and question.
I know what u mean... they did the samething to me and they suspended my account!! I had to strt all over...
There are dumb and even NASTY questions on here that dont ever get removed...

Why does a woman use under napkins ?

why does a woman use under napkins ?? ( What are undernapkins used for ? ) ....I'm 15 years old and I dont really know whats that !
Answer:
Sorry, I have no clue what "under napkins" might be.
Sweetie...have a talk with your Mom.

There's no such thing. Your friends are probably trying to explain to you about mini pads.or something.

Just ask your mom. I'm a mom. And we WAIT for our daughters to ask us questions. We're prepared for it.

.
is there another name for "under napkins"?
You must be referring to sanitary napkins/pads. Please see the link below. If you are a female, you should speak with another female in your family or someone you trust to have more of your questions answered. Good Luck

WHY does a girl loose her period when she starves or aneroxic?

Answer:
Because your body isn't getting the nutrition it needs.
Take it from someone who was anorexic for years - go see a doctor. I've been eating for 10 years now and I still have intestinal issues because my body can't tolerate a lot of foods. It's not worth risking not being able to have children, or having to avoid your favorite foods for the rest of your life.
GET HELP and GOOD LUCK!
For god sake just go eat something
Because she's denying her ovaries of necessary nutrients. Pretty selfish for a person to take potential life away from their unborn children. If I were you, I'd go scarf down a cheeseburger.
Because her body is no longer healthy enough to bear children. It doesn't waste the valuable nutrients and energy that it takes to prepare for children and have a period when the rest of it is starving.
Because there's nothing in there to get rid of! Your period is getting rid of both waste and nutrients, and when you aren't taking anything in, there's nothing to put out.

Also, you have to have relatively strong muscles to menstruate. Anorexia causes your muscles to atrophy.
*see first answer*
...because the body starts to shut down and just supplies nutrients to the heart for example... so you don't die... it's not a good sign if your periods stop.
Because when you deprive your body of nutrition it effects your hormones and your glands. Your body has to have nutrition. Diet, but eat!
id give you and example when you are going to go to the bathroom but you havent eaten something in like a week what are you going to take out of your body?another ex. if when you are doing sprts for a long time lets say 8 hours in a row and you dont drink any liquid what happens?you dont swet why?cause you dont got any liquids in your body

hope i helped i tryed my best
RGt
Because if said person were to become pregnant in such a state, then that person would be in mortal danger. The body is taking care of itself - the brain will not send much needed nutrients to a non vital area.
because when u starve yourself u lack nutrients and when u lack nutrients ur body cant perform many of the tasks it usually can.
They don't have enough weight and nourishment to carry a child or give birth.

Why does "doggie style" intercourse cause my my girlfriend physical pain ...?

while all the other positions don't?
Answer:
You are probably penetrating too deeply and are hitting her cervix. Men tend to become so concerned about having a large penis that they never stop to think how uncomfortable it might be for a woman.
sometimes that position can be painful...try it first instead of last...also...she can position her back in different ways to help it feel better..also i have learned not to be too proud to use ky...

Why do you use tampons over pads?

Answer:
Well I can tell you one thing, you can't feel tampons that's why they are great. Pads move around, leak, yuck! You have to worry about changing pads all the time because it may be leaking! Tampons are Gods gift to us women.
Because i am afraid of getting TSS or other kind of infections from tampons. So i always use pads.
because the thought of sitting in my own (i wont go into what ends up on a pad) all day long repulses me. tampons are clean, nobody knows you have one in, and you don't feel a thing!

win win if you ask me.
Tampons: because pads are disgusting to clean up, are way more comfortable, easy to dispose of.
I have always preferred tampons. Pads are just so messy, I feel like everyone can 'smell' me, and I worry about slippage. I am also very active, and tampons go wherever I do.
I think you can smell the pads - there is a woman at work and I know every time she has her period as I can smell it. She uses pads.
Tampons are more discrete. I know pads may be more hygienic but I prefer tampons.
I used to need both, oh joy! I like tampons, they are less messy than pads.
pads are so annoying. it feels like a diaper. tampons you can just flush, pads you have to wrap them with half a roll of toilet paper just to conceal them in the garbage...then...it stinks. i do admit, it took me a long time to get used to using/inserting tampons, but once i got the hang of it, i NEVER returned to pads...unless i really had no choice!
That whole TSS thing doesn't worry me. I think the dangers of tampson are WAY exaggerated. Tampons are safer than they were when TSS was first discovered. I've left my tampon in longer than your supposed to plenty of times.

Pads suck. It feels like a diaper, you're always self conscious people will be able to see the pad's outline under your pants. It leaks, it smells, and I just downright hate them.

I even use tampons while I'm sleeping, I hate them so much.
I would use tampons, except I'm kinda scared to try them. It's not so much the toxic shock or anything, it's just the idea of sticking something up there. Pads are okay as long as you get the thin kind and change them often.
TAMPONS. BEACUSE IT DOES NOT FEEL LIKE I AM WEARING A PAMPER

Why do you have to flame sterilize the inoculating loop before and after using?

what is the purpose of heat fixation for the bacterial smear?
Answer:
Heat fixation is the procedure used to adhere a bacterial smear to a glass slide for viewing by a compound microscope. It denatures the protiens on the surface of the bacteria causing them to be sticky.
After a smear has been allowed to dry at room temperature, the slide is gipped by tongs or a clothespin and passed through the flame of a Bunsen burner several times to heat-kill and adhere the organism to the slide. Heat fixation cannot be used in the capsular stain method as heat fixation will shrink or destroy the capsule (glycocalyx) and cannot be seen in stains.
Sterlizing of the inoculation loop is essential in order to avoid contamination of the slide preparations and also to prevent contamination of the inoculum plate.
You want to sterilize the innoculating loop before you do a smear because you want to kill off any other bacteria that might have been on the loop, such as something that landed on it while you were preparing your materials. You only want the bacteria from your sample to be on the loop.

Why do you have to flame sterilize the inoculating loop before and after using?

what is the purpose of heat fixation for the bacterial smear?
Answer:
You flame the loop before to destroy any organisms already on it to prevent contamination of your culture. You flame it afterward to prevent unintended spread of bacteria, especially if the bacteria you are culturing is highly virulent (such as O157 E. coli). Heat fixation allows the bacteria to stick to the slide, instead of rinsing off with the various rinses used during the staining process. I hope this helps!

It's kind of like cooking with clean dishes to start with then washing up the dishes you used to cook with.

Don't worry it's normal and happens..
You should do what I do and shave

Why do you get black n blues when an I.V. gets taken out?

Is that a sign of bad placement of the I.V.?
Answer:
When you had the IV you had a catheter in your vein. When the catheter comes out the vein will have a hole in it and will bleed. This is what causes the black and blue mark. If you apply pressure when the catheter comes out the bleeding will be controlled because the hole in the vein will be blocked.

This is not a sign of bad placement of the IV unless you have it while the IV is in. If that happens it means blood is leaking and you need the IV removed and a new one placed.
the vein still bleeds a bit under the skin
No.
It's because your capillaries have been assaulted %26 they are a ticked off!! LOL!

Seriously...that can happen to anyone, at anytime. Even if the placement is perfect, bleeding can occur.
No all people get bruised when an IV is removed. If you do it just means that there was a little bleeding under the skin when they removed it. Not a bad IV placement just a bit of bleeding under the skin.
all the blood rushes to that area because the IV was in a vein. So the vein now has a hole which makes the blood run to that area.
That means whoever did ur I.V. for you went right thru your vein. In other words they blew your vein in trying to hit it.
No, Bruising occurs when there is blood under your skin. The Black and Blue will be more visible if you are dehydrated.
Its perfectly normal, especially if you're older or have had an IV in for a long period of time.
Your vein is still bleeding after the I.V. was removed.

Yes, it can mean bad placement of the I.V.. It can also be related to the individual as some people have small sensitive veins and setting the I.V. is harder. And some people just bleed more easily too and are prone to this sort of thing.
Just simple bruising - it can happen to anyone for a myriad of reasons.
Usually black and blue is a sign that the IV blew the vein, meaning the vein popped. The bruising is from the blood there. Does not neccesarily mean bad placement, but that the vein just gave out.

Why do women's nipples hurt when?

they are going to begin their menstrual cycle?
Answer:
The tenderness you feel is due to a rise in hormones going through your body, and I think that has to due with you ovulating. It makes them sensitive, more in some woman then others, and thats why they feel sometimes swollen and hurt.
probally, i read somewhere that they slightly inflate then deflate just before, andthis causes the pain.
cause the harmones put more stress on the body..

Why do women's feet swell up after giving birth?

My wife had our son 2 days ago. Now her legs and feet are starting to swell up pretty big. Does anyone know why? Should we be concerned?
Answer:
Also it could be from the IV fluids that were or were not given to your wife. My cousin received her epidural and they proceeded to pump her with alot of IV fluids. Her legs and feet became Very swollen also. She drank lots of fluids and over the next couple of days they went back to normal
yes. tell the doctor. it's supposed to go DOWN after. she might have a clot of high blood pressure.
Swelling of the feet usually happens before giving birth and will subside thereafter.Swelling of the feet is one of the signs of preeclampsia and this condition will be resolved when you gave birth already.

Why do women's butts wiggle when they walk and men's don't?

Is it something girls practice, or is there a physical/biological reason for it?
Answer:
Women usually walk using there hips, keeping their hips shoulders swinging in opposite of each other, i.e. right shoulder and left hip swing out together (accounting for the more pronounced butt wiggle). Men usually walk with their hips and shoulders swinging on the same side, i.e. right shoulder and right hip swing out at the same time (men do have a butt wiggle, just not as pronounced as a womans).
Then, again, you may just be attracted to that particular feature in a woman.
that's just the way that we walk my friend.
women have more fat in there butt/hip area then men. simple as that. We have it for reproductive purposes.
Men's butts DO wiggle.
we are built differently. men tend to have more muscle and less fat. plus women generally take shorter steps.
I believe it has to do with the fact that the pelvis is tilted away from the vertical more in women than in men.
Women generally have more pronounced hips than men. This causes the shaking action when women walk. Nevertheless, some women do over accentuate this action to get the men to look.
high heels. when women walk in high heels they walk with there hips and take smaller steps making there butts wiggle.
it's a little of both ... the physical reason is the pelvic difference in makes v. females, where male pelvis is straighter and narrower, and a woman has a wider , and more tilted set up for giving birth.. But some women do it just to get attention, Hey i've seen some men do it too but i'm guessing they are either gay or in heels

Why do women talk about their periods so much?

I worked in women's prison for five years. I really started to notice Women like to make it known to the whole world when they have started their period or PMS. This tendency crosses all social and economic boundaries. All women do it. Why is that?
Answer:
Maybe at the time of their first meeting, that's all they know that they have in common.
Women are connected in that way to a very deep and personal level. Women in the same environment tend to all have their periods at the same time. It is a passage of womenhood that only we can share.
probably because men talk about there d*** so often
If you have to bleed from your vagina, the least people can do is hear about it.
Men talk about all kinds of unneeded things, and women all have that in common, we all go through it, and it's not embarasing.

Why do women soles mark with the exact shape of her feet, do you like it?

But if this is just a fetish question, don't bother.

Why do women have two periods in one month?

Answer:
I have irregular periods
Women do NOT have two periods in one month.
If YOU did, you should see your doctor to make sure you don't have a problem.
Most don't. If you are, then get checked for polycystic ovaries. That's what I have. I had irregular periods.
not all women some only.i only get mine every 4-5months and yes i have seen my dr
They have really short cycles
In general, they do not do so but if there is any problem they may have two in a month. It is called ''monthly'' also among less educated people because it comes once in a month. However, some times it may come more than once in a month if a lady is suffering from depression or nero-psychic aillment.

Why do women have one breast larger than the other?

Answer:
It is usually on the side of which hand they use, that the breast is larger.
I will have to read about why.
Some women have such a discrepancy in the sizes that they need plastic surgery to correct the problem.

Breast Asymmetry

In general, most women have some degree of asymmetry (difference) between their two breasts. This difference can be seen as a difference in, shape, size or nipple height on the breast itself. In some women the inframammary creases may also be at different heights with one breast lower than the other. For patients with scoliosis there may be a difference in their chest wall causing one breast to protrude outward more than the other. Usually, the average breast differences are so minimal as to cause little or no concern for the patient pre operatively. Even if there are subtle breast asymmetries, Dr. Corbin likes to inform the patient prior to breast surgery. Sometimes a small difference in breast shape or size is magnified once the breasts are made larger.

In more obvious cases the difference between two breasts can be quite substantial, causing both physical imbalance and emotional distress for the patient.

In cases of breast asymmetry, each woman's situation is unique. The goal of corrective breast surgery is to create two breasts that match each other as closely as possible in both size and shape. This may be best achieved with corrective breast surgery on one breast or both breasts. Corrective breast surgery may include augmenting one breast and lifting or reducing the other breast. Dr. Corbin custom tailors the surgery to each individual patients needs.

Usually, following corrective breast surgery, women have a greater sense of physical balance, more self confidence, a better body image, and greater self esteem. Physical harmony can often create emotional harmony.
i have that . I breast fed more on the bigger breast.
No one is totally symetrical, but for many people there is no noticeable difference.
They do? If I were a female and my breasts werent the same size I'd get a breast job!
dont have a scientific answer but probably for the same reason that sometimes one foot is bigger, or one ear is higher, or men's bits are one higher/one lower - coz we're not perfect and we sometimes develop lopsided! im sure there is an actual reason though!
You pretty much have every thing larger than the other.Like your arms, one arm is always going to be a little longer, same goes with your legs, and how big your eyes are; one eye is always bigger. So it's just normal.

Why do women have menstrual pains? What causes them?

Answer:
When a woman goes through her menstrual cycle different hormones help to prepare the egg for implantation in the woman's uterus (endometrium lining). The egg is implanted and waits to be fertilized by a sperm cell, if it is not the woman at about midway through the cycle releases not only the egg but a layer of the uterus the matured with nutrients to sustain the egg. So I guess you can look at a period as giving birth to thelining and an unfertilized egg. The pain can be coming from the minor contractions necessary to release the layer of uteral lining.
Not exactly sure, but its to do with the way the muscles contract and un-contract. Damn muscles!!
Menstrual pain is due to contractions or spasms of the uterine muscles, triggered by the drop in hormones estrogen and progesterone. The uterus is triggered to shed the lining which has been built up during the previous 28 days or so, which is done by spasms that cause it to slough off. In some women these spasms or contractions are strong enough to cause discomfort and pain, sometimes severely enough to cause nausea and vomiting. Cramps, as they are called, are treated with ordinary muscle relaxants, which serve to calm the uterine muscles.
Basically a woman cramps because her uterus is contracting to help shed the uterine lining.

Why do women get period pain?

why does it have to hurt so much?
would any of u guys like it for one day to see what its like its nothing like male flu lol it blinking hurts lmao
Answer:
Pain or cramps are common during periods. In fact more than half of all women who menstruate say they have cramps during the first few days of their periods.Drs. think that cramps are caused by prostaglandin,a chemical that causes the muscles of the uterus to contract.Depending on women, menstrual cramps can be achy or sharp and intense and can be felt in the back or the thighs as well as the abdomen. Some medications(like acetaminophen or ibuprofen) can relieve cramps. However, taking a warm bath or applying a warm heating pad to the lower abdomen can also give some relief.Exercising regularly throughout the monthly cycle may help lessen cramps. too.If these don't help consult your doctor.
Guys don't/can't reproduce, they don't have periods and hence no pains.
i don't know why it HAS to hurt so much. after you have kids, the pain goes down, at least it did for me.

men would not take it for a second. my hubby passes out from blood!
its because the muscles in the cervix is contracting to push the fluid down...there. gross, but thats why its hurts.

it has to hurt because...well, i dont know! it just sucks.
Because eve ate the forbidden fruit in the garden of eden.
it hurts because you are loosing so much blood, all your blood cells have to reproduce in your lower abdomin. thats where you get the cramps from!
maybe that is why girls act the way they do the other days of the month
I can handle the pain its when i cant remember things and i get aggessive with people that i would like to stop. i once got my ex to go out onto the patio and pull up all the weeds that were growing through the cracks because of p.m.s.
Because if men had the pain the country would be run by women..! can you imagine lol they wouldn't be able to walk never mind work!
What a load of bull. Menstrual cramps are nothing more or less than uterine contractions - the muscular walls of the uterus clamping down to shed the lining and push it through the cervix. And once you've given birth, I don't think period cramps can honestly be described as 'pain' any more!
Period pains are normal, if the pain is bad enough that it stops you from performing normal everyday tasks such as housework its called Dysmenorrhea. There are many conditions that can cause painful periods such as fibriods, polycystic ovaries, endometriosis to name a few.

There is no way a man could handle it! lol
Some say that cramps happen because of Eve's original sin, but here's the scientific explanation:

As the endometrium (uterine lining) grows, the arteries dilate and grow with it so that they can supply blood to a growing embryo.

As the endometrium disintegrates, less blood flows to the uterine arteries. However, the uterus must contract to expel the endometrium. It needs the oxygen from the arteries, but since less blood is flowing to those arteries, it must contract with less oxygen. This causes cramping. The uterus often contracts so tightly that it constricts its own blood supply even more.

Whenever I resent men for not getting cramps, I realize that, unlike them, I don't have to go bald. It's a small comfort indeed.
its because the walls of your uterus are rubbing up against each other to shed the lining so new lining can grow after your period...its your body's way of getting ready for pregnancy and giving birth.
because God was a man and he wanted to get his own back for something.

Why do women from india have body odor?

Answer:
For the same reason all women do and men for that matter.
I guess it's got to do with their customs and beliefs.
don't ever buddy have body odor
Everyone has body odour idiot!
they do not believe in deordorant..it is against their customs because it is not a natural product.just don't stand down wind of them.
Do you mean more body odor than normal? It might be their diet. I went to school with a boy from India and his mother cooked with garlic every day. It was secreted from his sweat glands and you could really smell it.

They might also have different cultural and hygience practices.

Who knows...we might smell funny to them?
Sometimes people who eat a lot of curry have a particular odor.

Probably other things cause this too, maybe we're used to some odors!

Why do women cramp when its that time of the month?

It just feels awful.3 days of misery..:(
Answer:
Well we all dread the cramps. They are horrible and makes you feel like Sh**. But the reason behind this is that your uterus contracts to help push the lining that has formed in the last 28 or so days. By lining I mean the blood and stuff that has formed in the uterus to nurture a baby if one were to be formed during that time. you have to get rid of the lining so we will always deal with cramps.

But you can try pain medication if it gets to bad. Or if they become unbearable go see your gynecologist.
muscles pushing the stuff out
God doesn't like us that much.
cramps are caused by the uterus trying tyo shed the lining that has built up.
Your uterus contracts to slough off the blood lining it creates in preparation of a fertilized egg. When it doesn't get one it starts to contract (which is the cramping) and you start your period. Try taking 600mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours (or acetaminophen or aleve) to help with the pain.

If it's really bothersome, start a birth control pill. It lessens the amount of bleeding and is good with managing cramps.

Why do we cramp during our period?

Answer:
Each month, the inner lining of the uterus (the endometrium) builds up in preparation for a possible pregnancy. If the egg is not fertilized by a sperm, the current lining of the uterus is no longer needed. The woman's estrogen and progesterone hormone levels decline and the lining of the uterus becomes swollen and dies. It is then shed and will be replaced by a new lining in the next monthly cycle.

When the old uterine lining begins to break down, molecular compounds called prostaglandins are released. These compounds, specifically prostaglandin F2alpha (PGF2alpha), cause the muscles of the uterus to contract. When the uterine muscles contract, they constrict the blood supply (vasoconstriction) to the endometrium. This contraction blocks the delivery of oxygen to the tissue of the endometrium which, in turn, breaks down and dies. After the death of this tissue, the uterine contractions literally squeeze the old endometrial tissue through the cervix and out of the body by way of the vagina.
gods way of doing things
Uterine contractions.just to keep us on our toes...
the uterus contracts to expel the blood lining the walls of your uterus.
Your body is shedding the lining of the uterus,
since it wasn't needed to support a baby, since you didn't get
pregnant during the previous month.

Why do vaginal discharges smell so foul just after periods but get better later?

Right after my monthly period i sometimes get a discharge that's like curdled milk which smells so nasty. it clears up after about a week though. What could be the cause? It isn't consistent throughout the month - just for the week after my period. I use pantyliners then but i'd like to get rid of it altogether! Can anyone help out here?
Answer:
It sounds to me that you might have some sort of infection or yeast imbalance. Your discharge should never smell foul - it is not normal. I would see a doctor if i were you, just to be on the safe side.
Thank you i am really enjoying my breakfast.
Try shake and vac
It sounds like you may have thrush, which is a yeast infection. It is made worse if you are feeling run down, wearing tight fitting underwear in hot temperatures, perfumed products, monthly hormone imbalance etc. Lots of things can aggravate it. Go and get a check up at the doctors. They will be able to tell you for sure.
i guess its a horomonal thing, but u should see a doctor any type of foul smelling or milky fluid u should have to see a doctor about that
hormone changes in you cycles.
drink lot of water.consult your gp,asap.
do u use tampax? if so try using a different type,

Why do uterine fibroids cause clots during the menses?

Answer:
"If they (fibroids) interfere with the ability of the entire uterus to contract, bleeding will increase and clots are likely to form."

http://www.centerforendo.com/articles/cl...
Because the fibriods catch the blood and it sits there for a while and the blood begins to coagulate (clot) when you shift to a different position the clot comes out

Why do thongs make me itchy??

i've been wearing thongs since I was 13. I'm 16 years old now, and about 1 year ago I started to get inchy in my buttcrack. Is it because of the thongs and why?? i don't like wearing normal underwear because it shows when wearing jeans!
Answer:
you may be having an allergic reaction from the back of the thong, rubbing against your skin.
Thongs are nasty little things that irritate your body and encourage infections. There are other undergarments that do the job without showing panty lines.
are your thongs natural: cotton or silk? If not you could be allergic to nylon or whatever theyre made of. You may have a fungal infection in the area; use an antifungal cream fro a few days and wear normal undies til the feeling improves.
Because it probably gave you a yeast infection. I'd suggest going to the gyno. The over the counter stuff doesn't really work very well. Let the gyno give you something that works.

Why Do They Call It Bl*w J*b-You Never Blow?

By the way I am a bloke.

Have often wondered why do they call it a Bl*w J*b-when apparently you do not blow?

I have no idea!

I have tried to ask this question as politely as possible.

Thank you
Answer:
i origionaly was called a below job but got distorted through time.
Well they certainly make me blow !!
The man blows... if you get my drift. not the giver, but the receiver does...
hmmmmmm gd question i def dnt blow
I also have absoloutly no idea! But it could be perhaps when you blow your load ....Maybe.Erm.
because the guy blows his load (***)
its just an expression, dont lose sleep over it, i dont know who invented that one, but it makes no sense at all. and while we are on this subject, why do some people say giving head, its weird.
Presume it is cause the man 'blows his load'
Hubby %26 I have often pondered this %26 have since renamed it the 'SJ' (or Suck Job) instead...it's a kind of code then too so no 1 knows what we're whispering about LOL ;-)
Because the phrase was invented in America where they habitually abuse grammer and the English language.
no idea, but i know im good at it!
strawberry tart has it in one, it was originally called a below job, but its a bit of a mouth full so it got shortened to bl*w j*b which is far easier to say!!

also its cos the guy "blows his load", so the two kind of merged together and the term bl*w j*b was made!!:) xx

Why do tampons hurt me when i try to put them in?

i'm a virgin so does that have something to do with it?
Answer:
well there could be a number of reasons why it hurts, you might me too dry, you might be too tight, you might be inserting them wrong. there are lots of internet sites that could inform you about this stuff. one tip i would give you is to first use the smallest tampons you can find and work your way up from there.
try buying a brand with a tapered head and a plastic applicator. If that doesn't help, use a little bit of lubricant (go through the self checkout if you feel embarrassed buying it)
they're not supposed to hurt. maybe you're putting them in wrong?
because they are supposed to go in your vagina, not your rectum.
i don't think being a virgin has anything to do with it. i just think it's because your body is not use to it. i've tried using them but they hurt so bad i just stick with the basics, but i highly doubt it's because your a virgin. and if it is then that's my excuse too.
You may be inserting them wrong or you might want to start using plastic applicators. They are easier to insert then the cardboard tampons. If they still hurt maybe you should wait a while before using them again.
Ok.. i had this problem too.

When your on the pot.. (lol.. i know)

Lean back a bit at first... and then insert it in by shoving it as far in as you can.. then make sure its all the way pushed up into you before pulling the plastic out..

If that doesnt work, try sucking in your stomach, and making yourself a little "looser" then putting it in, when you get it up there, release your stomach to relax, and pull the plastic out.

It took me awhile to get it, but practice makes perfect, and it is definitly worth it.
ISince you are a virgin, the opening in your hymen may be very small, that could make it difficult to insert a tampon, I think. The suggestions to try a brand with a plasic applicator and to use a lubricant are good.
If you are able to insert it and it hurts while you wear it, that is probably that you aren't inserting it far enough and it is sticking out just a little bit and rubbing. If you get it in right, you won't be able to feel it.
maybe it's not the right size. if your a virgin try a small. use a size that fits you.
try an ultra thin one with an applicator. I cant use the ones without applicators as they dont seem to go in right but with an applicator they are fine and easy to use
You're dry. put some vaseline around it.

Why do tampons hurt after a few min?

Answer:
maybee you haven't put it in right, that's what i find if mine hurts or i can still feel it.
maybe u didnt put it in right.. its should hurt u should not evenm feel them

Why do some women's vaginas smell terrible and some don't smell at all?

Answer:
Eating too much fish will cause stinky vaginas
It's their diet and how well they clean themselves
Alot of women as old as 20 don't know how to wash themselves well, we learn this is college because I'm studying to be a doctor. Women need air and the tight jeans all the time don't help. Tight jeans can help cause infections. It shouldn't have an odor.
Women have different pheromones, and hormones. Two women can wear the same perfume, one woman smells great, the other woman doesn't smell fragrant at all. There is a vaginal deodorant on the market, it's FDS and I swear by it to keep me feeling fresh all day long.

Why do some woman get their menstruation twice a month?

Answer:
Normal women will not have two full periods per month.

If a women is not on hormonal birth control, she may get her normal periods which are heavy and last serveral days, and about two weeks later may spot for a few days. This is called ovulation spotting, and can happen when the egg breaks through the corpus luteum cyst. This is considered normal.

If a woman is not on hormonal birth control, and is having what appears to be two heavy periods per month then she should definitely see a gynocologist as that is not normal

If a woman is ON hormal birth control and is having bleeding between periods, this is called breakthrough bleeding. Then her birth control method should be changed, either with the dosage or type.
Most women's cycles are about 28 days long. Most months are longer than that. At some point every year, most women will have a month in which they start 2 periods.

If you're talking about something more than that, see your doctor.

Why do some peoples periods come late when they are a virgin?

Answer:
Many things causes a period to be late when you are a virgin (although like others side virginity has nothing to do with it).. stress.. excessive exercise.. sudden wieght loss or gain.. illness.. hormones.. age... or just the fact that your body has a mind of its own.

Hope that helps
No reason they are irregular in the starting of the cycle.
I dont think that being a virgin is the answer. It is mostly a hormonal reason.
virginity has nothing to do with it, bodies are just different. I was a virgin until I was 17 and got my period when I was 12.
yea virginity has absolutely nothing to do with it..i've had my period since i was 10(and a virgin) and it's been regular ever since. Ever woman's body is different
