Why do uterine fibroids cause clots during the menses?
Answer:
"If they (fibroids) interfere with the ability of the entire uterus to contract, bleeding will increase and clots are likely to form."

Because the fibriods catch the blood and it sits there for a while and the blood begins to coagulate (clot) when you shift to a different position the clot comes out
