Why do women get period pain?

why does it have to hurt so much?
would any of u guys like it for one day to see what its like its nothing like male flu lol it blinking hurts lmao
Answer:
Pain or cramps are common during periods. In fact more than half of all women who menstruate say they have cramps during the first few days of their periods.Drs. think that cramps are caused by prostaglandin,a chemical that causes the muscles of the uterus to contract.Depending on women, menstrual cramps can be achy or sharp and intense and can be felt in the back or the thighs as well as the abdomen. Some medications(like acetaminophen or ibuprofen) can relieve cramps. However, taking a warm bath or applying a warm heating pad to the lower abdomen can also give some relief.Exercising regularly throughout the monthly cycle may help lessen cramps. too.If these don't help consult your doctor.
Guys don't/can't reproduce, they don't have periods and hence no pains.
i don't know why it HAS to hurt so much. after you have kids, the pain goes down, at least it did for me.

men would not take it for a second. my hubby passes out from blood!
its because the muscles in the cervix is contracting to push the fluid down...there. gross, but thats why its hurts.

it has to hurt because...well, i dont know! it just sucks.
Because eve ate the forbidden fruit in the garden of eden.
it hurts because you are loosing so much blood, all your blood cells have to reproduce in your lower abdomin. thats where you get the cramps from!
maybe that is why girls act the way they do the other days of the month
I can handle the pain its when i cant remember things and i get aggessive with people that i would like to stop. i once got my ex to go out onto the patio and pull up all the weeds that were growing through the cracks because of p.m.s.
Because if men had the pain the country would be run by women..! can you imagine lol they wouldn't be able to walk never mind work!
What a load of bull. Menstrual cramps are nothing more or less than uterine contractions - the muscular walls of the uterus clamping down to shed the lining and push it through the cervix. And once you've given birth, I don't think period cramps can honestly be described as 'pain' any more!
Period pains are normal, if the pain is bad enough that it stops you from performing normal everyday tasks such as housework its called Dysmenorrhea. There are many conditions that can cause painful periods such as fibriods, polycystic ovaries, endometriosis to name a few.

There is no way a man could handle it! lol
Some say that cramps happen because of Eve's original sin, but here's the scientific explanation:

As the endometrium (uterine lining) grows, the arteries dilate and grow with it so that they can supply blood to a growing embryo.

As the endometrium disintegrates, less blood flows to the uterine arteries. However, the uterus must contract to expel the endometrium. It needs the oxygen from the arteries, but since less blood is flowing to those arteries, it must contract with less oxygen. This causes cramping. The uterus often contracts so tightly that it constricts its own blood supply even more.

Whenever I resent men for not getting cramps, I realize that, unlike them, I don't have to go bald. It's a small comfort indeed.
its because the walls of your uterus are rubbing up against each other to shed the lining so new lining can grow after your period...its your body's way of getting ready for pregnancy and giving birth.
because God was a man and he wanted to get his own back for something.
